Hi gorgeous ladies, welcome to another post. This post is all about a basic everyday makeup routine. Something that can be achieved within 10mins when your rushing out in the morning.
Face
Primer – Maybelline Master Prime (Blur + Smooth)
This one is very similar to the smashbox photo ready primer in packaging and texture. The Maybelline primer comes in two other varieties, Blur+ Redness control and Blur + Illuminate. I don’t have redness and wouldn’t use an illuminating one for everyday and so I tried the Blur + Smooth. It has a nice smooth texture. A good drugstore primer 🙂
Foundation – L’oreal True Match Lumi healthy Luminous makeup
I am usually very unsure of which foundation to buy at the drugstore and how to match my skin tone. So after a lot of research I decided to get with this one. I got the shade W4 (I am a 2Y07 in sephora colour IQ). Overall I like this foundation. It is buildable and very easy to apply. It also has an SPF of 20. I have tried applying it with my finger, brush and a beauty blender. So far the application with a wet beauty blender is my favourite for this foundation. I stays on for a long time. I wear mine for close to 9 hours and on the day I wore it with my fingers it did get a little flaky around my cheeks where it’s dry but with the beauty blender, that didn’t happen. If you want to know how I found a foundation colour without actually trying it on, let me know an I will do a post on that.
Blush – MAC ‘Pinch O’ Peach’
This is my all time favourite blush. It’s a soft pinkish colour which I love. It very buildable and lasts so long. I have been wearing it almost everyday for over 6 months now. Its got no shimmer so its a great everyday blush.
Setting Powder – Make up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder
This is a good translucent powder to set the makeup. I use it mostly on my t-zone and under my eyes (to prevent the foundation or concealer from settling into my smile lines), but for people with oily skin, you can use it all over the face.
Eyes
Eyeliner
I use the Marc Jacobs Beauty Magic Marc’er Precision Pen waterproof eyeliner on my eyelid to create a winged liner. I wouldn’t say I am in love with this liner, but it’s good. It is very pigmented and stays put for a long time. When they say it’s waterproof they mean it. Definitely need an eye make up remover to remove this one. I don’t think its extraordinary, mostly because I usually have to go over it two or three times, because it sometimes comes off a little watery (weird huh!!). I like my l’oreal infalliable eyeliner from the drugstore just as much if not more. So don’t think it’s worth the price.
I use the Marc Jacobs Beauty Highlander Gel Eye Crayon in Blacquer 42- Black on my waterline. I am in love with this eyeliner for my waterline. The liner on my waterline always runs and I have tried so many products in the market. This is the only one so far that doesn’t smudge even after 8-9 hours of wear. It’s very soft to apply and highly pigmented. My holy grail eye liner for the waterline. I love this product. ❤
Mascara – L’oreal Telescopic mascara in black
I love using drugstore mascaras. Usually keep changing them up every few months and try a different one. Right now I am using the L’oreal Telescopic mascara in black. It is great for lengthening, not as much for volume though.
Lips
MAC Brave : It’s a satin finish lipstick
This is my go to pinkish nude lipstick for work everyday. A beautiful safe everyday colour. Its very smooth and creamy unlike some of the other MAC lipsticks (like Ruby Woo). This would be a great pinkish nude for almost every skin tone.
Hope you enjoyed this post… ❤
