Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in Envious
This was my first red lipstick. It is a very warm red with almost a orange tint. The formula is very creamy and feels moisturing on the lips. It is very pigmented.
The packing on Estée Lauder lipsticks is very sophisticated and it comes with a magnetic top. It’s everything I would expect from a $34 CAD lipstick.
The Con
It is not very long lasting and you would need to touch up after eating or drinking, like with most other lipsticks.

Nars Velvet Matte Lip pencil in Cruella
I got this as a birthday reward from sephora. I had always wanted to try this formula. I really like the colour and it looks so flattering on every skin tone. The formula is easy to wear. It doesn’t feel drying on the lips. I think this would be a great first red lipstick if that is what your looking for.
The Con
The only thing I don’t like about the NARS lip pencils’ is that it is a pencil (lol!!), and so they need a sharpener. I don’t like the fact that the product gets wasted when using a sharpener and so I have a tendency of not buy pencil products. Really wish these were retractable. Other than that it is a great product. It retails for $32CAD.

A red lipstick post is incomplete without mentioning MAC’s famous Ruby Woo. It is a cult classic for a reason. It has an amazing colour pay off and lasts on the lips for a very long time. It doesn’t move at all. The colour is fantastic. I would say it is perfect for when you want to add that extra pop of red for a bold stand out lip.
The Con
It is very drying on the lips and I highly recommend using a lip primer first, to make the application easier. Also I always prep my lips before using this one by exfoliating and mosturing.
