The got this blush on the recommendation of the sales associate at the beauty boutique in shoppers drug mart. These blushes are unlike the regular powder and cream blushes. These Stila Aqua Glow WaterColour Blush are water based, as the name suggests. I have it in the colour water lily which is a vibrant rose colour. It comes in a total of 5 colours.
On first glance the colours looks too bright and over whelming but they blend very easily. Some can say that it blends so well, that it becomes almost sheer. That also depends on your skin tone and which blush colour you use. On my skin tone, the colour water lily, gives a beautiful natural glow to the cheeks. The blush feels lovely on the skin. It looks very subtly, perfect for wearing everyday. I use my fingers to blend the product on the apple of my cheeks. I find that the blush wears very well on both dry and oily skin and lasts a long time. It is so seamless and feels like your not even wearing makeup.
The one problem I see with this product is that you can’t really use it with a powdered foundation. Because putting a water based product over powder moves the powder product and it gets messy. But with a cream or liquid foundation it works well. Or even on it’s own, it looks beautiful.
The packaging is very sophisticated and pretty. It comes in a small pot with a golden top. There is a cushioned netted pot. To get the product, we need to press down on the net and product comes out. I am not a big fan of this method for two reasons. One I use my fingers to apply this product and I end up touching the net multiple times, I don’t find that is very hygienic. Second I wouldn’t know how much of the product is used up and also I might end up wasting quite a bit at the end, which I don’t like doing at all.
- Great for all skin types
- Natural Glow
- Long wearing
- Easy to Apply
- Netted Pot: Packaging
- Can be too sheer: depends on skin tone and blush colour
Its gives a beautiful natural glow to the skin. Can be worn easily on a daily bases. It is easy to apply and blends easily. But it doesn’t work well over powder foundations. And I am not the biggest fan of the packaging.
