Lush Ocean Salt Scrub

It’s been one complete year since I last did a review of a lush product. Infact Lush was my very first post ever. And in honor of completing one year of this blog I decided to review another one of my lush favorites.

One of my all time favorite item from lush is the ocean salt face and body scrub. This post is a quick review of this gem. I recently finished the dark angels scrub(reviewed here) which I was hooked onto for over an year and went back to this one and instantly fell back in love with it.

About the product

“The minerals in sea salt soften as it scrubs away dirt, dead skin and blockages for a bright, fresh face. We mix in fresh avocado and coconut to hydrate thirsty skin, leaving it balanced and soft. The cleansing effects of lime and vodka are ideal for blocked pores, blackheads or blemishes and leave skin visibly brightened.”

It retails for 21.95CAD for 120gm, I usually get the self preserving one since it lasts unto an year.

Pros

  • Brightening
  • Smoothing
  • Gives Clean Felling
  • Smells like lime (yum! yum!)

Cons

  • It tingles and can irritate sensitive skin, because of the lime and vodka in it
  • Doesn’t remove makeup

My experience

How I use it?

I always use this in the shower. I use it usually twice a week because it can be harsh for everyday use. While in the shower I scoop it out of the jar and massage it gently on my wet face and let it sit while I do other things, and then after a few mins (2-3 mins) I wash it off. It can tingle especially if you have any minor cuts because of the lime. I find that it doesn’t dry my skin out and I continue to use it even on cold days. My skin feels extremely soft and smooth after I use it.

It has a clear smell of lime, can’t really smell the vodka though, which I think is a good thing. I am not a huge fan of the smell of Vodka :p

I store mine in the fridge because it feels cooling during the summer months when I use it 🙂

I love this product and would definitely recommend it to everyone. For my sensitive skin people out there, this might not be for you, though I can’t say since I don’t have overly sensitive skin.
