Peter Thomas Roth Face Masks

PETER THOMAS ROTH Face Mask

I got the sample kit of 6 Peter Thomas Roth Face Masks, a while back and in the past few months have had a chance to try all of them repeatedly.
I think I am finally ready to review all of them 🙂

Its a great set if your curious about PTR face masks and don’t want to invested close to 65-75$ each to purchase a full size jar. You can purchase this set from Sephora and it retails for 31 CAD. Each tube is 14ml each good for a few uses. Enough to get a good idea of the product. So lets jump into individual reviews

Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask

The Facts

It claims “A purifying, decongesting, and hydrating mask with odorless Irish moor mud to draw out dirt, oil and impurities as it infuses skin with moisture and vitamins.” It retails for 72CAD

My Experience

I know a lot of people love this one. But I wasn’t blown away by this mask. I like my purifying masks to be drying, is that weird like the Glam Glow (white jar) or Caudalie Instant Detox mask (my current favourite for cleaning out the pores). With this mask I feel it is not potent enough and not doing enough for the price tag. If your someone who hates the drying feeling of clay masks then this is a good one to try. It does live unto it’s claim of drawing out impurities while being hydrating so a huge thumbs up for that.

Cucumber Gel Mask

The Facts

It claims “A refreshing, cooling, moisturizing, and calming gel that helps soothe dry, irritated skin. ” It retails for CAD64

My Experience

This one is very cooling and feels great in the summer. I used to apply it as a gel moisturizer. It is hydrating and would work for all skin types (oily to dry). I love that it feels light and not sticky. I often use it as an over night mask. I do think it lives up to it’s claim. I do enjoy using it and continue to use it till I run out. However I don’t think it’s worth the hefty price tag, I feel like aloe gel from whole foods has the same effect.

Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

The Facts

PETER THOMAS ROTH pumpkin enzyme maskIt claims “A powerful, highly effective exfoliating treatment to address a dull, aging, and congested complexion. ” It retails for CAD72.

My Experience

This is another good one. It smells delicious, pumpkins and fall. Perfect time to use it this weekend with Canadian Thanksgiving 🙂 My skins feels very soft and smooth after using this one. It is a gentle exfoliant and if you don’t life hard scrubby exfoliants it is a great alternate. I can’t say much about the aging , congested completion claim since I don’t feel like I have aging completion and I am just not sure what they even mean by congested completion! lol! oh well still a great mask and very delicious! Sorry I noticed it’s not in the picture away, that’s because it was in my bath and I forgot to get it while take the picture.

24K Gold Mask Pure Luxury Lift & Firm Mask

The Facts

It claims  “helps to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for a youthful-looking complexion. Caffeine helps tighten and firm the look of skin while peridot—an exquisite gemstone rich in magnesium—re-energizes and helps reduce the aging effects of stress. The 24K gold imparts an opulent, radiant glow and locks in moisture for ultra-hydrated skin.” It retails for 99CAD

My Experience

This is my favourite out of the bunch. I feel like it makes my skin pump and hydrated. My makeup looks better then I use it. It feels very sticky when I apply it on the face and for that reason I don’t leave it on over night like I do with some of the other PTR masks.

I usually apply it for 15mins and then use a cotton pad with toner or Micheller water to clean my face. That way my skin isn’t left feeling sticky. Will I purchase the full size jar? I am actually gonna say no! that is because it is a very expensive product (99CAD) and I don’t think it has changed my life or it is a product I can’t live without, I will enjoy it while I have it and hope to get samples of it! lol

Not sure about the anti aging, fine lines and wrinkle claim but it does make my skin firm and hydrated.

Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask and Blue Marine Algae Intense Hydrating Mask

The Facts

Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask : “A cooling, soothing gel to help counteract visible signs of aging for younger-looking skin. ”

Blue Marine Algae Intense Hydrating Mask : “A nutrient-rich hydrating gel treatment mask that helps soothe and nourish skin with blue marine algae and other potent humectants. ”

Both of these retail for 64 CAD each

My Experience

I combined these two because I wasn’t to impressed by them. The blue algae is a hydrating gel mask and it would be great for someone with dry skin who breaks out after using an intense moisture, hence living up to it’s claim. Both these can be used as an over night mask. The rose mask claims to have anti-aging effects and I don’t have the skin to comment on that. Also I feel like products that claim to combat agin need to used for a longer time consistently to fully judge their potential.

Overall

As expected I loved some but not so much the others. I didn’t hate or regret any, for sure but a lot of them failed to wow me!!

Overall a great way to try out a bunch of different masks and there is something for everyone in this set. Hope you found this review useful

Thanks for stopping by guys, Also I am so sorry i haven’t written in a while, that is because I was in the process of switching jobs and also was away on vacation which was fantastic 🙂
